Carjackin' the Soul Train

So the Snag traveled (first class no less) up to cheque one of the ballyhooed "Making Time" events Being thrown by the RVNG crew out of NYC. As you can see the lineup was impressive to say the least...

First up where everyones new favorite hype machine product the Klaxons. The boys looked bleary and sounded it as well. I'm sure they knew this was a Soulwax event as they basically mailed it in.

Next up was Bonde Do Role which I didn't see because Surkin was killing shit downstairs with some of the nastiest, syncopated ghetto funk I've heard in a while. Def a kid to watch out for and seriously how old is this dude? I swear he could be 15

Then we have Soulwax I had heard great things but you hear great things about all sorts of shit bands and djs. This is one instance when the hype doesn't do the band justice. It has been sometime since Ive seen any performer lay a death grip on an audience the way Soulwax did. Playing the entire Nite Versions lp from end to end as if it was a continuous mix they had the crowd going sheer mental. Truly inspiring stuff. I dont know who will follow them at Coachella but light a candle and say a prayer for them as it is sure to be there doom. I would highly recommend checking them if you have the means.

As the night ended I peeped Diplo for a hot second down stairs in a not so surprise appearance and came back up to catch an hour Soulwax's Dewaele brothers doing there dj thing as 2ManyDjs. It was a wonderful end to a glorious night and a fine example of how cool shit can get....Dallas can you hear me?

Day One

Day One....Well here we are in the expanse that is cyberspace and we have now officially thrown my hat into the ring that is the world wide blogosphere. We tend to favor the good varieties of both food and music so my guess is we’ll be covering a lot of that round these parts. As you may or may not have already realized we are from the Great State and so I suppose it seems odd we would begin on newest venture with an event that took place in Rebel City but we are so deal.
